ROYAL WILLIAM YARD The Royal William Victualling Yard in Stonehouse, a centrally located suburb of Plymouth, was the major victualling depot of the Royal Navy and an important adjunct of Devonport Dockyard. It was designed by the architect Sir John Rennie and was named after King William IV. It was built between 1826 and 1835, and occupies a site of approximately 16 acres (65,000 m2), adjacent to the waterfront beauty spot of, Devil's Point, with Plymouth City Centre located, within a mile.

The Yard was closed in 1992 and subsequently passed into private hands. Grade I listed, it was converted to an up-market mixed-use development by Urban Splash. Described as the grandest of the royal victualling yards 'in its externally largely unaltered state, it remains today one of the most magnificent industrial monuments in the country.

Having won awards such as, "most popular destination" in the West Country, aside from the converted apartments, The Royal William Yard is today famed for its gastro opportunities, whilst offering a water taxi to Plymouth's Barbican. The area is considered, one of the city's treasures!
