Description
DESCRIPTION This extremely spacious ground floor apartment is superbly appointed and boasts a great deal of character. Occupying much of the ground floor of this prestigious Victorian villa which has recently undergone a great deal of refurbishment, the apartment has the benefit of its own private access, a private off road car parking space and the sole use of a beautifully landscaped, walled and extremely private courtyard garden.

It is easy to visualise the scale of the original house when admiring the lounge/diner of this flat which still retains its extremely high and beautifully moulded ceiling. The room has a pair of French doors and a lovely period fireplace along with wood effect flooring. The inner hallway meanders through the remainder of the apartment giving access to a spacious single bedroom with overhead storage accessed via a hatch and a lovely master bedroom with spacious built in storage cupboards also has French doors opening onto the aforementioned private courtyard garden, which can also be accessed from the kitchen. The kitchen has been stylishly appointed with a sheer white, contemporary range of cabinets, cupboards and drawers mounted at eye and base level incorporating solid beech worktops with recessed mood lights for effect in the skirting boards. It includes a fitted oven, hob and extractor fan, tiled splashbacks and oak flooring. The kitchen also houses a Combi boiler that provides instant hot water and was fitted in March 2015. The modern shower room boasts a tiled shower enclosure fitted with a power shower and lovely tiling to the floor and walls.

Located within this favoured residential suburb and conservation area, approximately one mile from Plymouth city centre and served by a wide range of local amenities, this is considered the perfect home for the professional or, given its ground floor situation within the building, those approaching or in retirement. The neighbouring building has also recently undergone a great deal of refurbishment meaning the whole area is beautifully presented. The apartment is being sold with no onward chain and vacant possession.

STOKE Also referred to by its earlier name of Stoke Damerel, which is a parish, that was once part of historical Devonport. In 1914, Devonport and Plymouth amalgamated with Stonehouse: the new town took the name of Plymouth. Since the amalgamation Stoke has been an inner suburb of Plymouth. Stoke is now densely built up with houses and apartments, dating back to late Georgian, with a predominance of early Victorian, Edwardian and fewer, 1930s homes. Bisected by the main railway line from Paddington to Penzance. The parish church is notable not only for its evolving architecture, but also its contents and historical connections. The area has been prosperous for several hundred years, and there are some distinguished private houses (several of which feature in Nikolaus Pevsner's book - "The Buildings of South Devon".) There are many examples of properties designed by famed Georgian architect Foulston, within the suburb. Stoke Damerel and Stuart Road Primary Schools educates pupils of ages 4-11, whilst secondary school children may attend Stoke Community College and is the home of Devonport High School for Boys Grammar School and Devonport Services Rugby Club. Flanked by Central park, Victoria Park and Devonport Park, there are acres of leisure space on the doorstep, with Plymouth Argyle Football Club and the Plymouth Life Centre, both considered to be within walking distance. Plymouth City Centre, is approximately one and a half miles away.
